HQA was granted full membership to the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) in June 2015.

HQA has been an affiliate member of ENQA since 2007. Following the completion of the Self-Evaluation Report, HQA has applied to ENQA for full membership (article 74 par. 1 of Greek Law 4009/2011). An External Evaluation followed, led by an ENQA experts Committee in January 2015. During the review, the ENQA Committee met with high-ranking administration officials, the Rectors and/or Vice-Rectors, the Presidents of the HEIs, the MODIP (Quality Assurance Unit), as well as with external evaluators of Academic Units, and representatives of students and stakeholders.

ENQA is a coordinating body for HEI evaluation at a European level and itsmission is to define criteria, guidelines and standardsfor Quality Assurance (European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) in the European Higher Education Area). Its members are National Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education, operating within the European Higher Education Area, such as HQA. ENQA also collaborates with European Organisations in the field of Higher Education (EUA, EURASHE, EQAR, ESU etc.) as well as with international Quality Assurance networks (INQAAHE, APQN).

As a full member, HQA will participate in all of ENQA’s bodies, thus establishing its position in the EHEA.
