Professor Nikoletta Paisidou graduated with honours from Lycée Greco-français "KALAMARI" and from the Law Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, having earned a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation, through her university studies. She followed a postgraduate course in Civil Law, Civil Procedure and Labour Law at the above university. She then went to Paris to attend a postgraduate programme of study in "Droit processuel" at the University of Paris II (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and she participated in teaching "Droit judiciaire privé" in undergraduate classes next to Professor R. Perrot, focusing on the comparative review of common institutions of Greek and French civil procedure law. She received her Ph.D. award with honours in Civil Procedure at the Law Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She was elected and appointed lecturer at the above Faculty in 1991.

She teaches all modules related to Civil Procedure at undergraduate and postgraduate level at the Law Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has taught Civil Procedure at the National Academy of Judges and at educational seminars organised by the Academy. She participates as Supervisor or as a Committee member for the assessment of dissertations and doctoral theses. She has been a member of the Thessaloniki Bar Association since 1981.

She is the single author of four monographs and apart from her contribution in collective writing, she has numerous single publications in various Law journals. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal titled "Review of Civil Procedure".

She is a member of Greek and foreign associations. She has participated with presentations and speeches in national and international congresses in Greece and abroad. She has participated in administrative committees at the University, such as the Employment and Career Structure (DASTA). Her area of expertise is Civil Procedure. She speaks Greek (native language), English, French and German.

Since December 2014, she is the President of the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency.

Ioannis P. Gerothanassis is Professor in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Ioannina where he has served as Vice-Rector (2003-2006) and Rector (2006-2010). He received his BSc from the Department of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1974), MSc (1978) and PhD (1980) from the School of Chemical Sciences, University of East Anglia, England. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher (Swiss National Foundation) in the University of Lausanne, Institute of Organic Chemistry (1980-1984). Dr Vassilios Tsiantos is a full professor in the Electrical Engineering Department of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Technological Institute (EMATTECH). He is a mathematician (Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, 1984). He teaches lectures on mathematics (Mathematics I, Mathematics II, Differential Equations, Transforms, Numerical Analysis, Game Theory, Combinatorial Analysis, Stochastic Processes, etc.). His PhD is in the area of numerical methods for ordinary differential equations in micromagnetic simulations (University of Manchester, Department of Computer Science, 2000). He also holds an MSc in Mathematical Modelling (Metropolitan University of Manchester, 1996), and an MPhil in Queueing Networks (University of Bradford, 1997).

He worked as a Research Associate at the Technical University of Vienna under the direction of Josef Fidler from May 2000 to August 2002. From December 2003 to June 2009 he was an Associate Professor in Mathematics at the Department of Sciences of EMATTECH. Since June 2009 he was a full professor at the same Department. In September 2013 he joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at EMATTECH, due to changes of "Athena" plan. He was the director of the Centre of Technological Research (CTR) of EMATTECH from June 2004 until June 2009. CTR implemented more than 40 projects under his direction, many of them with enterprises, chambers and industry. Moreover, he was also the Head of the Department of Science from September 2011 until April 2013, when he was appointed member of the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency.

He is the author of more than 50 papers in international journals and more than 20 conference papers. He has more than 550 citations. He participates in the editorial board of international journals and in the scientific committee of international conferences. More recently, he was one of the editors of a special issue of the journal IEEE Transactions on Magnetics (2014). He also published a book ("Advanced Mathematics for Engineers", in Greek).

Antonis Demos is Professor at the department of International and European Economic Studies, Athens University of Economics and Business, where he was vice-Head of the department (2006-2007) και Head (2013-2017). He studied mathematics at the Mathematics department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1986), Postgraduate Diploma in Economics and Econometrics at Southampton University (1987), MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics at the London School of Economics, London University (1989) and Ph.D. in Econometrics and Finance at Birkbeck College, London University (1992). He was a Research Assistant at the Financial Markets Group, London School of Economics (1988-1992), and Researcher at the Capital Markets Group, Banque Paribas, London (1991-93). He was, also, a Teaching Assistant at the Economics Department, London School of Economics (1988-19992) and at Birkbeck College (1989-1992), Lecturer in Econometrics and Finance at the Economics Department, Reading (1992-1994), Assistant Professor of International Finance and Banking, Athens University of Economics and Business (1996-2003), Associate Professor (2003-2013) and since 2013 Professor at the same Department.

He was vice-Director of EUROLAB (1997-2004), Director of the same Lab (2004-2013), responsible for student internship of the Department (2004-2013), and Vice-Director of the MSc in Banking and Finance (2005-2017). Since 2017 he has been an Assessor for the Research Proposals of ESPA.

His research interests are Asymptotic Theory, non-linear models, Financial Econometrics, Asset Pricing, and Market Efficiency. Dr. Evangelos Gerasopoulos is a Research Director at the National Observatory of Athens (NOA). He studied Physics at the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and received his MSc in the field of Environmental Physics from the same department. EG received his PhD in the field of Atmospheric Physics and Dynamics. He conducted parallel research within the activities of the Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics and the Environmental Radioactivity Group at the Physics Department. He worked as Post Doctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute (Biogeochemistry Department, Mainz) in the field of Aerosol Science and at the Environmental Chemical Processes Lab of the University of Crete, in the field of aerosol and trace gases monitoring at remote-marine environments.

He was elected as a Senior Researcher at NOA in 2006, and since 2011 he holds the position of Research Director at the Institute for Environmental Research and Sustainable Development of NOA.

George Papatheodoridis is Professor in Medicine and Gastroenterology at Athens Medical School and Director of the Academic Gastroenterology Department of Laiko Hospital of Athens, Greece. He was trained in Medicine and completed his PhD thesis on "Acute on Chronic Hepatitis B" at the Medical School of Athens University. He was trained in Gastroenterology at Tzaneion Hospital of Piraeus, Greece and had a 2-year research fellowship in Hepatology at the Royal Free Hospital of London, UK.

He served as member of Scientific Committee/Governing Board of EASL and is member of EASL and AASLD. He is vice president (president elect) of Hellenic Association for Study of Liver, general secretary of Hellenic Foundation of Gastroenterology & Nutrition and member of Scientific Committee for Viral Hepatitis of Hellenic Center for Prevention of Diseases. He was general secretary of Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology and Hellenic Association for Study of Liver. His main research interest has been focused on viral hepatitis.

He has (co-)authored >220 papers published in PubMed journals having total IF>1200 and >7000 citations (h-index 45). He was Associate Editor of Liver International and has served as Editorial Board member of other international journals and as reviewer for all gastroenterology/Hepatology journals, many major internal medicine journals (New Engl J Med, Lancet, Ann Intern Med, BMJ etc), ILC/EASL-UEGW abstracts, EU 7th Framework Programme for research and Horizon 2020. He has given >100 lectures, chaired >35 lectures/round tables and presented >220 abstracts in international meetings.

Stelios Stamatopoulos was born on 7.11.1958 in Gargalianoi, Messinia. He attended Law School at the University of Athens and graduated in 1981 with "Excellent". From 1983 to 2000 he was a reviewer for the legal journal “DIKI”. From 1985 to 1989 he was a stipendiary postgraduate fellow at Law School of the University of Athens, where he received an LL.D award in 1988. In 1990 he was elected as lecturer in civil procedure at Law School, Democritus University of Thrace. He became Assistant Professor in 1994, Associate Professor in 2000 and Full Professor in 2005. He has been teaching Civil Procedure at the National School of Judges since it was established in 1996, and he has been lecturing at the Educational Department of said school in Komotini, since its founding year (2000).

In June 2005 he was elected to serve as Vice-Rector of Democritus University of Thrace for one year and has also been appointed President of the Department of Social Administration by the university Senate, for the same term. In May 2006 he was re-elected at the office of Vice-Rector of Democritus University of Thrace for a four-year term and was also re-appointed President of the Department of Social Administration. In October 2006 he was appointed by the Senate as President of the Department of Public Financial Relations and Development, and in October 2009 he was nominated President of the Department of Political Sciences.

In August 2010, following a proposal by the Rectors’ Synod, he was appointed as member of the Hellenic Quality Assurance & Accreditation Agency, and has been holding the position to this day.

He has written monographs, consultations, educational essays, independent articles, numerous commentaries on courts’ rulings, auxiliary books and he has participated in collective interpretations.

He has been a lawyer since 1983 and he has taken part in numerous arbitrations.

George Stamelos is a professor the Department of Primary Education at the University of Patras. His research interests focus on Educational Policy, Higher Education Policy, European Education Policy and Teachers Training. His studies were undertaken in Greece (University of Patras) and France (Université de Paris 8). His PhD was concerned with the phenomenon of international students and international mobility.
He has also taught at Panteion, Athens and Peloponnese Universities. Since 2008, he has been a member of the master's program of the Department of Educational Sciences (MERSE) at the University of Rouen (France). He has also taught as a visiting professor at the following universities: Université de Paris 8, Université Ouest Nanterre La Défense and Université de Rouen. In addition, he has taught courses at the following universities: Université de Lille III (France), Universidad Nova de Lisboa (Portugal) and Université de Fribourg (Switzerland). He has two PhD candidates under his supervision, in cooperation ("cotutelle") with Université 8 and Université de Rouen (France). He has participated in various thesis presentations in Greece and abroad (Université de Paris 8, Université Ouest Nanterre La Défense, Université de Rouen and Université de Nancy 2). His works have been published in Greek, English, French and Spanish. Overall, he has authored about 160 works (books, chapters in books, articles, conference proceedings, etc.). As far as research activities are concerned, he has participated, and participates still, in Greek and European projects. Dr Panagiotis V. Tsaklis, is a full Professor at the Department of Physiotherapy of the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (ATEITH). He is the scientific Director of the Institute for Life Long Education (ILLE ATEITH) since 2010 and was President of the department of Physiotherapy the period 2013-2105. He is the head of the Sports Facilities and Athletics Committee of ATEITH and the Director of the Laboratory of Biomechanics and Ergonomics at the department of Physiotherapy.

He holds a BSc in Physiotherapy (ATEITH, 1987) and a BSc on Physical Education and Sports Sciences (Democritus Univ of Thrace, 1991). He has a PhD on Exercise Biology, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2001). He was a PostDoctoral researcher (postDoc studies fellowship) at the Karolinska Institute Sweden, on the field of Biomechanics and Motor Control (2005-2006). He was trained on the Tissue Engineering at the department HST – Harvard Medical School & MIT (2007). He was senior researcher and lecturer at the departments NVS & Public Health Sciences of Karolinska Institute (2005-2009). Prof Tsaklis, has been trained on the planning and materialization of curriculums for Health Sciences, through special courses attended at the Harvard Medical School. Georgios Tsantopoulos was born in 1969 in Messolonghi. He has an undergraduate degree from the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1995). During his undergraduate studies he was a member of the Senate and of the Administrative Council of the University Forest Administration and Management Fund. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2000.

Since 2001 he has taught in various departments in higher education: Department of Public Relations and Communication of Technological Education Institute of Western Macedonia, Department of Forestry and Management of the Environment and Natural Resources of Democritus University of Thrace, Department of Forestry of the Technological Institute of Larissa and Department of Marketing and Operations Management of the University of Macedonia. In March 2003 he was elected lecturer in the Department of Forestry and Management of the Environment and Natural Resources of Democritus University of Thrace while in 2010 he was elected Assistant Professor and in 2014 Associate Professor.

His research interests are Forest Applications, Environmental Communication and Public Relations. Since 2006 he teaches in the Post-graduate Program of Studies "Sustainable Management of Environment and Natural Resources" and since 2015 in the Post-graduate Program of Studies "Environmental Education and Communication" of Democritus University of Thrace. He supervises five doctoral dissertations and thirty M.Sc. dissertations from which 20 have been completed. He has participated in several examining committees of doctoral and M.Sc. dissertations. Nicholas Tsounis was born in 1966 in Ioannina. He is Professor of Economics at the Department of International Trade, TEI of Western Macedonia, based in Kastoria since 1997. He has also been teaching at the Hellenic Open University since 2006. He has also taught at the University Manchester, at the Hellenic Air force Academy, at the National School of Public Administration and the University of Macedonia. He has a First Degree in Economics from the Economics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master’s (M.A.(Econ)) and Ph.D. degree in Economics, in International Trade Theory, by the Department of Economics of the University of Manchester, U.K.

He is author of more than 30 papers in scientific journals, more than 10 in international conference proceedings and of 2 monographs. His scientific work has collected over 220 citations from other researchers. He has edited 9 collective volumes and has written 3 textbooks. He is a reviewer for many countries' research programs (Russia, Cyprus, Slovakia, Serbia, the Czech Republic and the EU).

He has participated in the scientific committee of many scientific conferences and is co-founder and co-chair of the International Conference on Applied Economics (ICOAE). His research interests are in applied economics focusing on International Economics, Economics of Education and Economics of Tourism. He was a member of the examination committee for 3 PhDs at universities abroad and has supervised many masters’ dissertations.

He has served as Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs and Deputy President of the Council. He is an academic consultant at the Hellenic NARIC since 2008.

George Zalidis graduated from the Agronomy Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with doctoral studies at the Department of Soil Science and postdoctoral studies in Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering Department at the State University of Michigan US.

Currently, he is the Director of both the Laboratory of Remote Sensing, Spectroscopy and Geographical Information Systems as well as the Laboratory of Applied Soil Science at the Department of Agriculture of the School of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Ηe is also the Scientific Coordinator of Interbalkan Environment Center (i-BEC) since 2007.

His large administrative experience stems from founding and coordinating the scientific actions of Interbalkan Environment Centre, but also from the participation in scientific positions of responsibility both in Greece and in the E.U. and the US. He has served as, among others, Representative of the E.U. in the Ramsar Convention, National Expert for transboundary water issues and participates in the High Level Working Group of GEO for Earth observation issues, Representative of the Hellenic Republic, Ministry of Rural Development and Food at the international Group on Earth Observations Global Agricultural Monitoring Initiative (GEOGLAM) of GEO. Professor Zalidis has developed significant partnerships with major research centers in Europe and America and actively participates in relevant scientific networks.

His research focuses on Earth Observation issues in the Societal Benefit Areas of GEO. He has published over 200 research articles (1087 citations, h-Index 19 and i-index 32), with over 100 oral presentations at international conferences, with noted invitations to present, the international conference DGI2017 together with the Secretary General the GEO Ms. Barbara Ryan and the AGU2016 FALL MEETING as guest speaker for SDGs. He has conducted more than 70 research projects. He recently received an Academic Excellency Award as the Professor with most funded projects in Aristotle University in 2016.
